This aspect, in addition to Shipmate and Group Mailings, facilitates the flow of class and individual news. But most importantly it provides a social outlet for maintaining and rekindling personal contact and relationships within the class community. Topping the list is the grand union held every five years in Annapolis. We try to bridge the 5-year gap with mini reunions held at different locales around the country, luncheons in area of high classmate population (e.g., Washington, San Diego and Tidewater), football tailgates at home, and, as part of the Alumni Association tailgates at away games, golf outings in Tidewater and San Diego, company level reunions, etc. The Covid-19 pandemic caused the Class to defer its 65th Reunion in 2021, but when feasible will be rescheduled as the next milestone event.
