Lawrence Arthur Lowden of Liberty, Mo., passed away February 17, 2011, at Center Pointe Hospital. Mr. Lowden was born May 16, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo. He was a 1956 Graduate of the US Naval Academy and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy "Go Navy, Beat Army!"

He worked as an Engineer for most of his life retiring in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Minnie (Sloan) Lowden; sister, Hazel Darling. Survivors include his wife, Mary Joyce; sister, Sandra Fischer; three nieces; three nephews. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Lowden home in Liberty. He will be laid to rest privately with Military Honors in Swan Lake Memorial Park, Grain Valley, Mo.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in Lawrence's name.
