passed away peacefully on May 17, 2013 in Palm Coast, Florida. Jack was
born on May 8,1932 in San Diego, California, growing up in Glendale. A graduate
of the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1956, Jack proudly served his
country as a Naval Aviator, retiring a Captain in 1980, while raising a family
of two sons and a daughter. His service may have defined his early life, but
was really only the beginning of his adventure. After the end of his naval
career, and until his passing, Jack pursued his passion and joy for acting and
the theater, supporting and appearing in scores of stage productions in San
Diego, Northern Virginia and the Palm Coast area. In 1977 he met and later
married Georgia Workman. For 33 years, Jack & Georgia cherished each other
as soul-mates, enjoying the fruits of life and love. Jack's greatest joy was
sharing life with Georgia, their family and friends. A man with an opinion on
just about everything, who could fix just about anything, and a master of
"gadgets", Jack was surrounded with people who shared his passion for
life and commitment to a common purpose. Jack was always there, as the voice at
the end of the table, as counselor, as team-mate, as golf partner and friend;
taking great joy in having others feel appreciated and valued. Perhaps it's
appropriate that Jack's final curtain-call was in a play called
"Pygmalion", a story of commitment, hope, transformation and love.
Rest assured that Jack will miss you as much, or more, than we all miss him.
You, his family and friends, were his life and legacy. Published in Daytona
